Nightcrawler in X-Men 2?

I seem to remember a report many, many years ago when the X-Men movie was starting the first go-round, a report that John Leguizamo was attached to play Kurt. Since then, he's played a demonic clown, a singing dwarf, a drag queen, and a plumber that fights mushrooms. So I think he has the range to play a German swashbuckler with blue fur.

If we're looking at someone younger, I could see Nicholas Brendon (Xander on Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
